Mary Ann Overturf
November 14, 2003Mary Ann Overturf, 74, of Columbus, Neb., died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus, with Rev. Bill Ritter officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Overturf was born Dec. 20, 1928, in Fairfield, the daughter of Roy and Jessie Thomson Lee. She married Gerald L. Overturf June 20, 1948, in Ottumwa. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Overturf graduated from Selma High School in Selma in 1946 and then graduated from the Iowa Success School in Ottumwa. After her marriage, the couple moved to Columbus in the spring of 1949. She worked at the southside Jack and Jill grocery store and as a keypunch operator at Dales.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Overturf and wife Sue of Columbus, Neb.; one daughter, Janice Aye and husband Ron Aye of Silver Creek, Neb.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
