BABY HARPER PASSED AWAY WEDNESDAY

The little child of Fred (sic - James Frederick) HARPER died yesterday afternoon after a short illness at his home on West Merrill street. The funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence and was in charge of Rev. Thomas Osborn, pastor of the Methodist church.

The little one was about four months old and was at its birth deprived of a mother's care. The remains were laid to rest by the side of the young mother in Evergreen cemetery this afternoon. There is much sympathy felt for the young father in his afflication.

* Transcribed for genealogy purposes. I am not related to the person(s) mentioned.

Note: Son of J.F. & E.M. Harper (James F. 'Fred' HARPER and Elizabeth M HULL HARPER).

The name of the child was not provided in the obituary for him or his mother; it is probable that the name was given later when the death records were compiled.

Buried in Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. SDiv.2-032. No headstone. Buried by side of his mother.
