DAN M. GARBER DIES AT HOME

Dan Milo GARBER, prominent young man of Fairfield, passed away at his home, 607 South Main St., early this morning. His death came at 5 a.m. after a lingering illness. He had been in ill health since he entered a hospital in Washington, D. C. on January 11, 1947. He was a patient there for two months before he returned to his home.

Last rites will be held Monday at 4:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian church with Dr. Curtis R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body is at the Monger funeral home.

Dan GARBER was born September 4, 1926, in Fairfield, the son of Don and Wanda GARBER. He was educated in the Fairfield schools and attended Parsons college before he enrolled in the school of foreign service at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He spent two years in the U. S. army.

While in high school, he was prominent in school activities. He was a member of the torch club, national forensic league, Thespain (sic. Thespian) club, and editor of the quill (sic. The Quill, the Fairfield High school student newpaper). He was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his grandfather, M. K. BARNES (sic. Milo K. BARNES), Fairfield, and the following uncles and aunts: Mr. and Mrs. Keith PRIZER, Fairfield; Mr. and Mrs. Henry CAMPBELL, and their son, Billy, Greensboro, North Carolina; Mr. and Mrs. L. C. STRAUS, El Paso ,Texas; and Mrs. Martha RODGERS, Mt. Pleasant.

His father, the late Don GARBER, preceded him in death in 1931.

NOTICE OF THE APPOINTMENT OF ADMINISTRATRIX

State of Iowa,
Jefferson Counth, ss. (sic)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN,

That the undersigned has been duly appointed and qualified as administratrix of the estate of Dan Milo GARBER deceased, late of Jefferson County. All persons indebted to said estate are requested to make immediate payment; and those having claims against the same will present them within legal time, duly authenticated, to the undersigned, for allowance and file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court.

Dated July 16th, 1947.
