Michael D. SHIVER (sic), 57, of Bonaparte, died at 7:15 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Michael D. SHRIVER

Michael D. SHRIVER, 57, of Bonaparte died at 7:15 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

The body has been cremated. A memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bonaparte Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Caston officiating.

Visitation begins at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with family present from 5-7 p.m.

Private burial of cremains will be in Bonaparte Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Bonaparte Baptist Church of (sic - or?) Bonaparte Cemetery and left at the funeral home or church or mailed to the family at 32863 Route J-40, Bonaparte 52620.

Mr. SHRIVER was born Jan. 5, 1955, in Keosauqua, the son of J. Walter and Emma MUNTZ SHRIVER. He accepted Christ as a child. He married Tamera VICKERS, Jan. 24, 1976, in Bonaparte.

He graduated from Harmony High School and lived his life in Bonaparte.

He had worked for Progas in Keosauqua and was a correctional officer at the Mount Pleasant Correction Facility. He retired with 25 years of service in 2010.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul SHRIVER and spouse Kathy of Moberly, Mo., and Ryan SHRIVER and spouse Sarah of Bonaparte; one daughter, Erin SHRIVER of Fairfield; his mother, Emma STECKER of Bonaparte; three grandchildren; and one brother, Steve SHRIVER of Bonaparte.

He was preceded in death by his father, one granddaughter and his stepfather, Dean HIRSCHLER.
