Raymond JACOBS dies at 86

Raymond August JACOBS, 86, 803 E. Adams, died at 2:15 a.m. today at Parkview Care Center.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Lingwall officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been estalished to First Lutheran Church.

JACOBS was born Aug. 19, 1897 near Salina, the son of August and Christine JOHNSON JACOBS. He lived his entire live in Jefferson County, moving to Fairfield in September, 1982. He has been a resident of Parkview Care Center since March 22, 1984. He married Arlene SCHILLERSTROM at Salina on June 16, 1929. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Jack of Burlington; two grandchildren and one great-grandson. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church and had farmed in the Salina community until his retirement.
