Sophia BUCHER rites Thursday

Sophia BUCHER NELSON, 94, died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Parkview Care Center where she had been a resident since June, 1978.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. William Sullivan officating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Prayers for a Christian Wake will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Raymond Funeral Home.

Sophia BUCHER NELSON was born June 8, 1889 in Lockridge Township. Her parents were Joseph and Amelia KILCHER BUCHER. She made her home in the Lockridge Community before moving to Chicago where she married Harry C. NELSON Jan. 30, 1924.

The family lived in Fairfield, Monmouth and Chicago before returning to Fairfield in 1969. Her husband preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1978. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Mrs. NELSON was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield.

Survivors include one son, Frank NELSON, Seattle, Wash.; four sisters, Elizabeth NELSON, Fairfield; Laura BUCHER, Davenport; Ruth and Lucille BUCHER both of La Grange, Ill.

Four grandchildren and a brother, Ed BUCHER, Libertyville, also survive.
