Vada Viola HOLM, 83, of Nelson Nursing Home, former Hedrick resident, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 1994, at Nelson Nursing Home.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 29, 1994, at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard HENDRICKS, the Rev. William HENDRICKS and Mark HENDRICKS officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation is open from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeal home. Memorials have been established to Nelson Nursing Home Activity Fund and VFW Auxiliary.
Mrs. HOLM was born July 7, 1911, at Aurora, Neb., the daughter of Joseph and Hattie WILSON PETERS. She married Julius HOLM on July 20, 1929, in Mancato, Kan. He died Dec. 10, 1992. They farmed in the Fairfield area before retiring. She was employed as a clerk with the Snider Grocery when she lived in the Fairfield community.
Surviving are a daughter, Arlys D. HENDRICKS of Davenport; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth PETERS of Ridge Manor, Fla., John PETERS of Fort Madison; and a sister, Betty HEADLEY of Fairfield. Five brothers, Ted, Ralph, Virgil, Gale, Lyle and a sister, Mary, preceded her in death.
