Edmund G. TAGLAUER

BRIGHTON - Edmund G. TAGLAUER, 83, of rural Brighton, died early today, Monday, Aug. 1, 1994, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville with the Rev. Jim Van Winkle officiating. Burial will be in Hope Lutheran Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. A memorial has been established to Hope Lutheran Church.

TAGLAUER was born May 2, 1911, in Germanville, the son of George and Henrietta M. STORTZ TAGLAUER. He married Elsie Mildred LYNN on April 20, 1935, in Germanville. She died Dec. 17, 1983. He lived all of his life in the Germanville area. For most of his life, he maintained roads for Jefferson County, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and a past member of Brighton Lions Club.

Surviving are his companion, Bea BEKEL; two sons, Ronald of Fairfield, Richard of Wayland; a daughter, Karen ALDERMAN of Iowa City; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A brother, Ben, three sisters, Emma PETERSON, Carrie TAGLAUER and Elsie DOBRAS, and a grandchild preceded him in death.
