BONNETT Services

Mrs. Edgar J. BONNETT of Batavia, died at 10 a.m. Friday at the Maplewood Manor in Keota where she had resided the past two-and-a-half years.

Last rites will be Monday at 1:30 p.m., at the Woolson Friends Church with the Rev. Naomi Lock, pastor, and the Rev. Kermit Black of Batavia officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Gould Funeral Home in Richland. A memorial has been established to the Woolson Friends Church.

Mrs. BONNETT was born Jan. 2, 1888 near Packwood, the daughter of Robert and Alda JONES TURNBULL. She graduated from the Pleasant Plain Academy and taught school before her marriage to Edgar BONNETT on Feb. 9, 1910. She was a long time member of the Pleasant Plain Friends Church and joined the Woolson Friends Church when they moved to that community. The last few years they had resided on a farm near Batavia.

Mrs. BONNETT taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the Friends Missionary Society and the WCTU.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Wilbur BONNETT of Batavia and Merwyn BONNETT of Oskaloosa, two daughters, Mrs. Clyde McCRACKEN, Route 4, Fairfield and Mrs. Elvin REED of Fairfield, one sister, Mrs. Lenora FLEIG of Richland and one half-brother, Carlos WATSON of Rural Richland. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, one brother and two sisters.
