Monday Aug. 4, 1975Death Takes Mrs. CRABLE
Mrs. Elizabeth E. CRABLE, 80, 702 N. Court, died Sunday at 3:22 a.m., at the Jefferson County Hospital where she had been seriously ill the last two weeks.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m., at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Sollars officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Mrs. CRABLE was born Oct. 30, 1894 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Lloyd and Ida HICKENBOTTOM McCARTY. On Oct. 5, 1912 she was married to Emory F. LITTLE (sic. Emery F. LITTLE) who died Oct. 24, 1964. On March 18, 1967, she married Clyde C. CRABLE. He died May 2, 1974.
Mrs. DRABLE (sic. CRABLE) has been a resident of the Fairfield community for over 68 years. She was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Norman LITTLE of Ottumwa; three daughters, Mrs. Charles VINYARD (sic. a/k/a perhaps wrongly, as VINEYARD in the obit for Clyde C. CRABLE) of Ottumwa, Mrs. Esther REED of Washington D.C., Mrs. Elvina Macfarlane (sic. MacFARLANE) of Elsinore, Calif.; eight stepchildren, Mrs. Ellis BYERS, Mrs. Herbert (sic. Hubert) KELLER, Arnold CRABLE all of Fairfield, Walter of Davenport, Marvin of Louisville, Ky., Melvin of Rock Island, Clyde D. of Marion and George of Springfield, Mo., nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. CRABLE is also survived by two brothers, William McCARTY of Red Bluff, Calif., and Walter McCARTY of Arcata, Calif., four sisters, Mrs. Charles BARROW of Fairfield, Mrs. Ray MICHELS of Dearborn, Mich., Mrs. Gene RACEY and Mrs. Max GAVIN, both of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
