Clyde CRABLE Dies At 84

Clyde Clarence CRABLE, 84, died Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at his home at 702 N. Court after a serious illness of three weeks. Death was caused by a heart attack.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Sollars officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

CRABLE was born June 12, 1890 at Mount Pleasant, the son of John and Sarah SHANE CRABLE. He was married Sept. 3, 1911 to Stella RIDENOUR. They lived at Clarinda until 1924 when they moved to Fairfield. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1961. She died March 7, 1966.

CRABLE was a long-time employe (sic.) of the Dexter Co., and later was employed at the Louden Machinery Co. On March 18, 1967 he was married to Elizabeth LITTLE, who survives.

The following children also survive: Mrs. Ellis BYERS, Mrs. Hubert KELLER and Arnold CRABLE, all of Fairfield; George CRABLE, Springfield, Mo.; Walter CRABLE, Davenport; Marvin CRABLE, Louisville, Ky.; Melvin CRABLE, Rock Island, Ill.; Clyde D. CRABEL (sic. CRABLE), Marion; Mrs. Charles VINEYARD (sic. a/k/a VINYARD in obituary of his wife Elizabeth) and Norman LITTLE, both of Ottumwa; Esther REED, Washington D.C.; and Alvina MacFARLANE of California.

Other survivors are 24 grandchldren, 16 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Edith WHITHORN, Des Moines. Three sisters and three brothers are deceased.

CRABLE was a member of the Golden Wedding Club and Harmony Baptist Church.
