H. HOWELL Rites Set

Services for Mrs. Hattie Mae HOWELL, 87, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Sloca officiating. Interment will be in Lambirth Cemetery.

Members of the family will be at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Mrs. HOWELL died at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Henry County Memorial Hospital in Mount Pleasant.

Hattie Mae HOWELL was born May 29, 1888, in Henry County, the daughter of Alonzo and Josephene EDWARDS EMERSON. She was reared and educated in Henry County and spent most of her life in Henry and Jefferson County. She was a member of the Round Prairie Baptist Church.

She was married Feb. 24, 1917, to Thomas N. HOWELL at Osceola. He died July 21, 1969. He served as Jefferson County sheriff for 12 years, 1943-1955.

Mrs. HOWELL is survived by one son, Herschel, Van Buren, Ark., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one son, one brother and a sister.
