Editors Ledger: -- Robert YOUNG was born near Belfast, Ireland, and came to this country when about twenty-five years old, accompanied by his wife and child. He lived near Wilmington, Del., and in Philadelphia until 1857, in which year he came to Iowa. Located first at Glasgow, then in a short time bought a farm near Salina on which he resided until the time of his death. He enlisted in Company M, Fourth Iowa Cavalry, at the beginning of the war and served until its close. He has suffered more or less ever since the war from the effects of exposure while in the service, and for the past two or three years has been quite feeble. About two months ago an ulcer formed on his right shoulder. His strength was rapidly failing when a month later he was attacked by the grip, which hastened his death, and he passed peacefully away at 2 o'clock on the morning of the 27th of February. During his illness he said, "I have nothing to fear," and was ready and willing to leave the cares and troubles of this world and join the friends gone before. He was a member of the Presbyterian church for many years, and was always a faithful attendant at church and Sabbath school. Was married three times, and leaves a wife and two children with many friends to mourn him.
