Death of Mrs. Sarah SPEERS. (sic - SPEER)

Sarah ROBINSON SPEERS (sic - SPEER) was born near Laren county, Autrine, Ireland, June 22, 1820, and came to this country in 1851. On March 12, 1852, she was married to James SPEERS (sic - SPEER), who died in 1883. They had resided continuously on the same farm in Cedar township, this county. Mrs.SPEERS (sic - Mrs. SPEER) was sick but a few days, and on last Sunday, March 9, she passed away. There are four children left to mourn the loss of an affectionate and kind mother, all of whom reside in this county, Rosa M., John M., James, and Andrew R.

Note: Her obituary states she died on Sunday, March 9th, while her gravestone uses March 8, 1890, for a death date and SPEER for the surname. She and James are buried in Pattison Cemetery, Jefferson County, IA.
