Wayne G. KLEPINGER

Wayne G. KLEPINGER, age 99, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Legacy Heights Care Facility in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mr. KLEPINGER was born July 6, 1912 near Essex, Iowa in Page County.

He was the son of Clinton E. and Maude GAMBLE KLEPINGER. He was educated in the Shenandoah schools.

He married Myrtle RISDON of Hamburg, Iowa on June 30, 1935.

They lived in Fairfield since 1935. Myrtle died on October 22, 1996.

Wayne was managing partner of the Brown's Shoe Fit Company since its purchase in 1935 until his retirement January 1, 1981.

He was on the Board of Brown's Shoe Fit Company, headquartered in Shennandoah (sic), Iowa.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, serving as Church Treasurer for over twenty years, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, former Bethany Board, Rotary Club and Fairfield Golf and Country Club.

He was an affiliate member of the United Methodist Church and the Golf & Racquet Club of Sun City Center, Florida.

Surviving are his daughter, Mary Jane QUIMBY of Charlotte, North Carolina, Daughter-in-law Carol KLEPINGER PARKIN of Fairfield, four grandchildren Kirk QUIMBY, Kristin PARKHURST, Meredith QUIMBY ( husband Kevin COPPAGE), Rachel KENNEDY ( husband Shawn KENNEDY) and four great-grandchildren, Kate COPPAGE, Luke COPPAGE, Grace KENNEDY and Alexandra KENNEDY. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle, one son Barry KLEPINGER, and three brothers, Glen, Forest and Joyce KLEPINGER.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16th at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield with Reverend Madea Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
