ROGER SROUT DIED SUDDENLY THIS MORNING

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe E. SROUT passed away after brief illness

John Roger SROUT, 29, young Jefferson county trucker and farmer passed away suddenly this morning at 9:30 o'clock, at the Jefferson county hospital. SROUT has been ill for the past month, but was taken to the hospital only yesterday.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, at the Weston Behner Funeral Home. Services will be in charge of Rev. John Leih, and burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery west of the city.

Roger SROUT was born December 22, 1911, in McLean, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe E. SROUT. The family lived in Van Buren county for a number of years, moving to Jefferson county about ten years ago. The made their home on a farm northwest of the city. For the past six years, young SROUT had been engaged in farming and in trucking.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe SROUT; one sister, Frances; and two brothers, Joseph E. and Jack, all at home.
