MRS. ALICE M. CASTELL ANSWERS SUMMONS

Mrs. Alice McGAW CASTELL, wife of the late W. B. CASTELL, passed away this morning at four o’clock at the Jefferson County Hospital after an illness of over a year with cancer.

The funeral services will be private and they will be held from the Frazey Funeral Parlors tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock in charge of Rev. W. R. Keesey of the Methodist church. The remains will be interred in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. CASTELL was the daughter of J. H. and Elizabeth McGAW and was born near Richwoods, Jefferson county, Iowa, on March 27th, 1866. All of her life has been spent in this county, where she made many friends who will regret to learn of her death. She is survived by one brother and a sister, Hugh McGAW of Fairfield and Mrs. Charles GREEN northeast of the city.

On October 27th, 1898, at Salina, she was united in marriage to W. B. CASTELL, who preceeded (sic) her in death on Jan. 12, 1917. Two children, James Bernard age 15, and John William age 10, now left fatherless and motherless.

In early life she united with the Methodist church and throughout her life lived in accordance with its teachings.
