MRS. ALLENDER'S RITES TOMORROW
Former Resident of County Died In Beardstown, Ill., Yesterday

Mrs. Martha (sic - Margaret) ALLENDER, an old resident of Fairfield but who since the death of her husband, Thomas ALLENDER, two years ago has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. E. F. HORTON, Beardstown, Ill., died there yesterday morning at 4:30 oclock.

Her body will be brought back here for burial, arriving tomorrow morning, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. HORTON. Funeral services will be held at the home of her stepson, Charles W. GREEN, 603 North Main street, tomorrow afternoon at 3 oclock, in charge of Rev. T. S. Pool of Mt. Pleasant. Interment will be in the Upper Rich Woods cemetery.

Mrs. ALLENDER was born in Huntington county, Pa., Nov. 20, 1832 and came to this county in 1850.

MRS. MARGARET ALLENDER

Mrs. Margaret ALLENDER was a native of Pennsylvania, born in Huntington county and passed to her reward at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. S. HORTON at Beardstown, Ill., July 14, 1925, at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 24 days. Her husband Thomas ALLENDER having passed away two years ago. She leaves to mourn her going one daughter Aletea, five grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren also three sisters, Mrs. Jane CROY of Agency, Ia.; Mrs. Ellen GREEN of Lockridge, Ia.; and Mrs. Emma WILLSEY of Cleveland, Ohio. She came to Jefferson county in 1850. At the age of 18 years she was converted and united with the M. E. church of which she remained a faithful member to the end. She was also a member of the Woman's Foreign Missionary society. All who knew 'Aunt Margaret" as she was familiarly called, knew her to love and admire her. The funeral services were held at the residence of Charles GREEN on Main street at 3:00 oclock p.m. Thursday and the remains were laid at rest in the Richwood cemetery.

Admin. note: Buried in Upper Richwoods Cemetery. She was first married to Joel FOOTE, then to Wesley J. GREEN, and Thomas ALLENDER was her third marriage. Joel died in 1870, and Wesley died in 1906; all three husbands are also buried in Upper Richwood.
