Jack M. Schreiner, 75, of Ollie, died at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Prairie View United Methodist Church on Highway 78 near Ollie, with the Rev. Shirley Hoffman-Will officiating. Burial will be in Ollie Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 504.

Family visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the church.

Memorials to Prairie View United Methodist Church may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 100 N. Marshall St., Ollie 52576. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Schreiner was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Ollie, the son of Edgar H. and Thelma M. Marshall Schreiner. He married Phyllis Day March 3, 1948, in Fairfield.

Mr. Schreiner was an Ollie resident his whole life. He graduated from Ollie High School and attended Parsons College in Fairfield. He and his brother were entertainers throughout Iowa as teenagers.

Mr. Schreiner was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, an active member of American Legion Post No. 504 and a member of Ollie United Methodist Church, now Prairie View United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities including as chairman of the building committee when the new church was built. He was a member of Keokuk County Conservation Board and Pekin School Board and master of ceremonies for many community functions.

Mr. Schreiner farmed in the Ollie area for more than 25 years, was an auctioneer in southeast Iowa and worked for Iowa Department of Agriculture and Iowa Attorney Generals Office for 25 years. He retired in 1993.

Survivors include his wife of Ollie; three children, Cheryl Brennan of Falmouth, Mass., Terry Schreiner and wife Christine of Lakeville, Minn., and Randy Schreiner and wife Christy of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Keith Schreiner of Grand Junction, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
