Helen N. STAVES

Helen N. STAVES, 90, of Parkview Care Center, died at 5:02 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 1996, at Parkview.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Emmanuel Lillios officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation is open at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Greek Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist in Cedar Rapids and Parkview Care Activity Fund.

Mrs. STAVES was born Sept. 1, 1905, in Greece, the daughter of Nicholas TSAMOURAS. On Sept. 27, 1927, she married Peter H. STAVES in Davenport. He died June 1, 1973. She became a United States citizen in 1938.

A homemaker, she later worked with her husband at Purity on the west side of the Fairfield square.

Surviving are a daughter, Dorothea HARRISON of Fairfield; two sons, Nick of Saugus, Calif., John of Mount Athos, Greece; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
