L. Louise LAWSON

L. Louise SIMPSON LAWSON, 88, 513 E. Madison Ave., died at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 1996, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Richard Wllarab officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be open until 8 tonight and until noon Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home. Family visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials have been established to First Presbyterian Church and Fairfield Public Library.

Mrs. LAWSON was born July 25, 1907, in Fairfield, the daughter of Frank Henry and Myrtle KEARNS SIMPSON. She grew up in Fairfield graduating from Fairfield High School in 1925 and Parsons College in 1928. On Aug. 17, 1928, she married Roy F. LAWSON in Fairfield. He died Jan. 24, 1979. She taught school in Council Bluffs from 1951 to 1969. She lived in Council Bluffs from 1929 until 1982, when she returned to Fairfield. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church; Elzevir; Chapter MB, PEO; the Fairfield Women's Club; Abracadabra; Fairfield Golf and Country Club; and a charter member of Phi Kappa Phi.

Surviving are a son, Jerry W. of Scottsdale, Ariz.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A son, Dr. Douglas LAWSON, and a brother, Roy SIMPSON, preceded her in death.
