Pauline Wanda WHITE GOBBLE

Pauline Wanda WHITE GOBBLE, 88, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, former area resident, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 1994, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Idaho Falls of complications following a stroke.

Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Evergreen Cemetery at Fairfield. Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation. Memorials have been established to the Idaho Falls Public Library or the Tautphaus Park Zoo in care of the funeral home, Box 347, Mount Pleasant, 52641.

Mrs. GOBBLE was born Oct. 2, 1906 in Exline, the daughter of Edward Donald and Anna Louise (sic. a/k/a Louisa) JOHNSON WHITE. She grew up in Iowa, attended Parsons College in Fairfield and Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley, Colo. She taught elementary school in Fairfield and surrounding areas. On July 25, 1937, she married John Robert GOBBLE. He died in 1968. They lived in Jefferson, and in Beatrice, Neb., before moving to Idaho Falls in 1942. She was a homemaker and mother. She and her husband owned and operated GOBBLE's Shoe Store for 15 years and she worked for 10 years at the Idaho Falls Public Library until retiring. A lifelong member of the United Methodist church, she was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, where she had been a member of United Methodist Women for 50 years and was active in the Chancel Choir. She was a member of Old Fort Hall Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution; PEO; and was active for many years in the Community Concert Association in Idaho Falls.

Surviving are two daughters: Marcia BROWNLEE of Omaha, Neb.; Mary Caroline EDWARD of Idaho Falls; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna L. WHITE of Des Moines. Lee GOBBLE of Fairfield is her brother-in-law. A brother and sister preceded her in death.

Note: Buried in Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. 4th.014. Her headstone only has "Pauline W. White Gobble" on the inscription, not her DOB/DOD years.
