Local Woman Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Jack SCHLARBAUM, 54, died suddenly early Sunday morning after she was stricken at her home at 806 N. Eighth St.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in charge of Father Cletus P. Madsen. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. SCHLARBAUM was the former Veronica Marie SHEMANSKI. mer Vernonia Marie SHENAMSKI. (sic) She was born July 29, 1915 in Jefferson County, the daughter of John and Pauline BISKEY SHEMANSKI. She was married to Iliff "Jack" SCHLARBAUM July 25, 1962.

Mrs. SCHLARBAUM is survived by her husband. She was a lifetime resident of this community.

She is buried beside her brother, Elroy Edward SHEMANSKI (sic. a/k/a Roy Edward SHEMANSKI).

Veronica was married first to Verle HAGANS on Sept. 4, 1937 (d. 1983; he is buried in Memorial Lawn cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa). Married to Iliff L. "Jack" SCHLARBAUM on July 25, 1962. He died Feb. 3, 1975 and is buried in Purdom cemetery in Keosauqua, Van Buren County, Iowa.

Her headstone has "Hagans" for the married surname, and her DOD is not fully engraved on her headstone.
