Mildred QUICK

Mildred V. QUICK, 82, 406 N. Main, died at 2:20 a.m. today at Jefferson County Hospital.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Lenwood Monte officiating. Burial will be in the New Sweden Lutheran Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday. A memorial has been established to the New Sweden Chapel Fund.

Mrs. QUICK was born Jan. 30, 1904 in Beckwith, the daughter of John and Alma Sophrona ANDERSON PIERSON. She married Karl J. QUICK Dec. 23, 1924 in Fairfield. He died Oct. 15, 1952.

Surviving are a daughter, Pauline REEDER, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Donald L., Lockridge, Paul D., Fairfield; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edgar PIERSON, Stevens Point, Wis., and John PIERSON, Fairfield. A brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. QUICK had lived most of her life in Jefferson County. She taught in the rural school system in Jefferson and Henry counties, retiring in 1971 from the West Branch school system. She was a member of New Sweden Lutheran Church, First Augustana Lutheran Church of Lockridge, and a member of Retired Teachers, and LCW Dorcas Group.
