Rites Wednesday for JONES

FREMONT - Former long-time Pleasant Plain resident Albert JONES, 94, died early Sunday morning at the Fremont home of his daughter, Wilma PEARSON.

JONES was born Dec. 17, 1891, in Jefferson County, the son of David and Rachel HOSKINS JONES. He grew up near Pleasant Plain and lived within half a mile of his birthplace for 92 years. He attended Pleasant Plain Academy as a child and was a World War I veteran serving with the U.S. Army.

On March 8, 1921, he married Etha CRAIL in Des Moines. She died in 1975. He is survived by two daughters, Wilma PEARSON and Waneta JONES, both of Fremont, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, JONES was preceded in death by two infant sons, three brothers, three half-brothers and two half-sisters.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Plain Friends Church with the Rev. Ron Bryan and the Rev. Mark Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Plain Cemetery.

Visitation is open tonight and Tuesday at Fremont Funeral Cahpel. Memorials may be left to Friends Church Mission.
