Milton A. ROBERTSON, 72, of rural Douds, died at 7:07 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at the Van Buren County Hospital emergency room in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

Milton A. ROBERTSON

Milton A. ROBERTSON, 72, of rural Douds, died at 7:07 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at the Van Buren County Hospital emergency room in Keosauqua.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church in Douds, with the Rev. Ann Donat officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery in rural Morning Sun.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with family present 5-7 p.m. and Masonic rites at 7 p.mn.

Memorials to Christ United Methodist Church, Celestial Lodge or Sharon Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 16701 Route V-64, Douds 52551.

Mr. ROBERTSON was born Sept. 14, 1939, in rural Morning Sun, the son of James R. and Jennie Elvessie MEYES ROBERTSON. He married Janell V. LUEBS June 17, 1961, in Denver, Colo.

Mr. ROBERTSON graduated from Morning Sun High School and Colorado State University. He was a range conservationist for the United States Forest Service in Colorado and northern California. After Mr. ROBERTSON retired in 1987, the ROBERTSONs moved to a farm south of Douds. They farmed and owned and operated Douds Kwik Stop. Mr. ROBERTSON also was a longtime bus driver for Van Buren Community School District.

Mr. ROBERTSON chaired the Christ United Methodist Church administrative board an served in multiple church capacities. He was a past master of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons Celestial Lodge No. 413 of Douds. He was a member of Ottumwa York Rite and Davenport Scottish Rite Masonic bodies and was president of Ottumwa Scottish Rite Club. Mr. ROBERTSON was a Chequest Township clerk and a member of Douds Community Club board. He had been a memer of Lions Clubs, including one in Cantril. He was also active in the Republican Party.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cindy RAWLS and husband Mike of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Elizabeth ENSERRO and husband Ron of Lone Tree, Colo.; one son, one son, James ROBERTSON and wife Tammy of Douds; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Janet CAUDLE of Bonne Terre, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marlene WILSON.
