Erland R. WEBER

BRIGHTON - Erland R. WEBER, 57, of Brighton, died Tuesday, March 5, 1996, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. David Brownfield officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. Prayers for a Christian wake, rosary and family visitation will begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. A memorial has been established for the elevator project at St. Joseph Church.

WEBER was born May 5, 1938, in Harper, the son of Leonard and Cecelia WEBER WEBER. He was raised in the Harper area and attended school in Harper. On July 2, 1960, he married Gerri KURTZ in East Pleasant Plain. He served for a short time in the Army Reserve, worked at Clay Products in What Cheer and Amana Refrigeration. He moved to Brighton in 1962, when he began farming. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Washington, St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain and Moose Lodge 579 in Burlington.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Leesa WEBER of Albuquerque, N.M., and Leanne WEBER of Marshalltown. His parents and two brothers, Arnold and Larry, preceded him in death.
