Charmian NADY CARLSON

Charmian NADY CARLSON, a Fairfield native, died Tuesday, March 5, 1996, at her daughter's home in Lansing, Mich.

Cremation has been completed. A memorial Mass will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Evergreen Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home.

Mrs. CARLSON was born in Fairfield, the daughter of Xavier Clifford and Jennie WRAY NADY.

Charmian NADY CARLSON

A rosary for Charmian NADY CARLSON, former Fairfield resident, who died Tuesday, March 5, 1996, at her daughter's home in Lansing Mich., will be recited at 7 p.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home. A memorial Mass will follow at St. Mary Catholic Church at 8, with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. CARLSON was born in Fairfield, the daughter of X.C. and Jenny WRAY NADY. She attended Washington School, graduated from Fairfield High School, attended Clark College in Dubuque and Iowa State University. On March 9, 1946, she married Peyton R. CARLSON. She first was employed as a teacher in the Pleasant Plain School District and later taught in the Denver, Colo., school system. She held positions as a city manager for Avon Products in Dallas, and was also a manager for Answerphone in Yuma, Ariz., and Nevada Foreign Exchange in Las Vegas. Special interests were music, theater and dance, and she participated in all of them.

Surviving are two daughters, Charmian WASHBURN of Lansing, Nancy BECK of Newhall, Calif.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Xavier NADY and Gary NADY, both of Las Vegas.

Note: Buried in Lot Old.P.101. Per the Social Security Death Index, her birthday was February 20, 1921. She and husband Peyton were divorced in Colorado in 1976; he subsequently married a woman named Jean, and they are buried in Des Moines, IA.
