MRS. A. J. CONLEE DIED THIS MORNING.

This morning about one o'clock the death angel knocked at the home of A. J. CONLEE on South Third street and called Mrs. CONLEE from this earth. She had been ill for several months passed (sic) and her relatives and friends had been informed that the end was not far off never the less (sic) the blow is a hard one to the family and many friends.

Laura A. ROSS-CONLEE was born in McCoupin (sic - Macoupin) Co, Illinois January 31 1858. She moved with her parents to Nebraska and was there united in marriage to A, J. CONLEE April 18 1876. they made their home in Beatrice Nebraska until September 1892 when they moved to this city where they have since resided.

To them were born four children CharlesR. (sic) CONLEE, John R. CONLEE, Mrs. Frank LONG and Mrs. Fred ROHRER all of this city, to whom the loss of their mother is a crushing blow.

Mrs. CONLEE was a member of the Presbyterian church and was a woman of wide acquaintance in this city. Her many friends could not realize that the illness which fastened its hold upon her sometime ago was serious and today the news of her death caused regret in many homes.

The funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the residence and the mortal remains will be laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery. Rev. C. L. Tennant pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church will have charge of the last services.

Mr. CONLEE and his children have the sympathies of hosts of friends during their hours of sorrow.

Mrs. A. J. CONLEE

Terminating a long illness which had kept her bedfast for nearly two months, Mrs. A. J. CONLEE passed away at the family home in this city Tuesday morning at ten minutes to 1 o'clock. The funeral will take place Thursday morning at 10 o'clock from the residence, Rev. C. L. Tennant of the M. E. church officiating. Surviving are the husband, A. J. CONLEE, sons, Charles R. and John R., and daughters, Mrs. C. F. LONG and Mrs. Fred ROHR (sic - ROHRER). One other daughter died in infancy.

Mrs. CONLEE, with her family, came to the city sixteen years ago from Beatrice, Neb., and has been a continuous resident of Fairfield since that time. While she has been in ill health for years, she has borne her sufferings patiently and has become endeared to a large circle of friends. She was strong in her Christian life and came to death without fear, passing away peacefully. She had previously talked over the preparations for her funeral and her wishes are being carried out as planned by her.

Mrs. CONLEE Is Dead.

Mrs. A. J. CONLEE died at her home in this city early Tuesday morning. She had been in ill health for some time past. Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday morning at 10 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. C. L. Tennant. Mrs. CONLEE was born in Macoupin county, Ill., January 31st, 1858, her maiden name being Laura A. ROSS. With her parents she removed to Tecumseh, Neb., in 1864, grew to womanhood there and was married in 1876. She was the mother of five children, four of whom are living--Charles R., John R., Mrs. C. F. LONG and Mrs. Fred ROHRER. The family came to this city in September, 1892, and has since made its home here. Mrs. CONLEE was a member of the Presbyterian church, was active in its good works and bore a part in many social affairs. She was held in the highest esteem as neighbor and friend, was a devoted and a most affectionate mother. Many friends outside the home circle will be saddened by her death and many expressions of sympathy will go out to the stricken family.
