WILLIAM GREEN DIED TODAY AT HOSPITAL HERE

Moved to Fairfield from near Libertyville in 1916; funeral Friday

John William GREEN (sic. John William Drew GREEN), 405 West Monroe street, passed away at the Jefferson county hospital at 11:40 a.m. today. He had been a patient there since suffering a broken hip May 16.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home in charge of Dr. M. A. Gable. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

William GREEN, a retired laborer, was born July 22, 1864, in Van Buren county. He moved to Fairfield from near Libertyville in 1916. He had been in poor health for the past six years.

He is survived by his wife (sic - Sarah E. JOHNSON); one son, King, of Farifield; and three daughters, Mrs. Mamie TEETER of Eldon, Mrs. Pearl HICKENBOTTOM of Fairfield, and Mrs. Marjorie DUNLAP of Des Moines.

One sister, Mrs. J. M. BOYD of Fairfield, and 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

One son, Charles GREEN, passed away May 6, 1939.
