Marion P. CLARK, 74, resident of Fairfield since 1945, died at 8:55 a.m. Monday at the University Hospital in Iowa City.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Dunreath Cemetery southwest of Monroe with Ray Holloway officiating.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Raymond Funeral Home.
Marion P. CLARK was born Nov. 4, 1906, near Dunreath in Marion County. He was the son of Jeptha and Alice Susan BATY CLARK.
He was reared and educated in Monroe, a graduate of Monroe High School and the School of Engineering at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.
He was married in 1929 to Eva WHEELER at Des Moines. She died Aug. 14, 1940. His marriage to Betty WHALEY took place May 27, 1945, at Knoxville. She survives.
They moved to Fairfield in 1945 and he was employed at the Louden Machinery Co. for two years after which he joined the Soil Conservation Service in 1947. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saits (sp: Saints). The family home is at 507 S. Second.
In addition to his widow, CLARK is survived by three daughters: Marianna DUBBERT, Concord, Ohio; Barbara NELSON, Des Moines; and Lucille BROOKS, Crawfordsville, Ind. Also seven grandchildren; one brother, Joe CLARK, Monroe.
He was preceded in death by one son, two daughters, nine brothers and four sisters.
