G. A. MARTIN dies at 68

Glenn A. "Bud" MARTIN, 68, native of Jefferson County, died at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient one day.

Last rites will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be Wright Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

Glenn A. "Bud" MARTIN was born Aug. 30, 1912, in Jefferson County. He was the son of Gilbert and Dolly HALL MARTIN.

He was married Dec. 20, 1934, to Velma STODGELL in Kewattan, Minn. She died June 4, 1961.

Survivors include eight children: five daughters, Delores FIEDLER, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Patricia STARNES, Fairfield; Shirley GARRELS, Fairfield; Mary DISHONG, Wyoming, Mich.; Barbara BRICKER, Mount Pleasant; three sons, Gerald MARTIN, Grand Rapids, Mich.; John MARTIN, Morris, Ill.; and Robert MARTIN, Fairfield.

Other survivors include 20 grandchildren and four sisters. They include Merle HARTLEY, Batavia; Velma HUBBARD, Grinnell; Maude OPDAHL, Sauk Center, Minn.; Nora HARBOUR, Grinnell and his companion and friend Wanda BAIRD, Fairfield.

MARTIN was preceded in death by one son.
