Beulah Belle (BAKER) LAUDERMAN, age 101, of Washington, Iowa died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Washington County Hospital following a short illness.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Jones Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Linda Foor officiating. Visitation will begin noon Wednesday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. Memorials have been established for the Jefferson County Fair Board. Beulah was born August 1, 1910 in West Chester, Iowa the daughter of Addison Markwood and Rosa Belle (FOXX) BAKER. She attended the Westminster Country School and graduated from West Chester High School. Beulah was united in marriage to H. Wilmer LAUDERMAN on February 4, 1935 in Memphis, Missouri.
Beulah was a homemaker and was active in the family farming operation west of Pleasant Plain where they resided until moving to Washington in 1973. She had been a resident at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington for the last eighteen years. Beulah was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Washington, Iowa where she was active in her church, assisting with funeral luncheons and with the sewing circle. She enjoyed gardening and canning, and especially enjoyed helping with the harvest. Beulah always looked forward to her annual trip to the Iowa State Fair and the annual fishing trip with her family over Memorial Day Weekend.
She is survived by granddaughter Cindy ADAM of Richland, Iowa; grandson, Bryan LAUDERMAN and wife Bobbi of Fairfield, Iowa; grandson, Brad LAUDERMAN and wife Mandi of Pleasant Plain, Iowa; grandson, Neil JOHNSTON and wife Jill of Des Moines, Iowa; granddaughter, Denise GREINER and husband Jim of Fairfield, Iowa; granddaughter Laurie STOKES of Fairfield, Iowa; thirteen great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Rich STOKES of Fairfield, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilmer in 1986, daughter Shirley STOKES, son Larry LAUDERMAN and daughter-in-law Janice, two infant grandsons; four sisters; Winnie BAKER, Etta STATLER, Florence SHEETS and Eunice LEASE, and two brothers; Clarence and George BAKER.
