Mrs. SHAW, 78, Taken In Death

Mrs. Elnora M. SHAW, 78, former Fairfield resident and a long-time teacher in the local schools, died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa.

The Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa.

Mrs. SHAW was born March 20, 1892 in Fairfield, the daugther of William and Emma Kessel Berg. She graduated from the local high school and attended Parsons College.

Mrs. SHAW also attended the University of Wisconsin and had two years of nurses training at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. She was a teacher at Roosevelt School for 23 years, moving to Ottumwa in 1952.

Mrs. SHAW was married to Lloyd SHAW June 30, 1927. He preceded her in death in 1952. She was a member of St. Patrick Caholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased.

Mrs. SHAW is survived by two nieces and two nephews, including Mrs. Howard COX, with whom she made her home in Ottumwa.

(I do limited research on KESSEL lineage.)
