Jacob DIERS, 70, long-time resident of Jefferson county, passed away about 10:30 a.m. today at the Jefferson County hospital.
The body is at the Raymond Funeral home where last rites are pending.
Jacob DIERS was the son of Henry and Anna WARNER (sic - WERNER) DIERS. He is survived by two brothers, Fred of Lockridge and Glenn, Fairfield; also a sister, Mrs. V. A. DOBRAS, Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Last rites for Jacob Peter DIERS, 74, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond funeral home with the Rev. Hoyt Whitebread in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
DIERS passed away at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Jefferson County hospital where he had been a patient for the past three weeks. He had been in failing health for a number of years.
Jacob Peter DIERS was born Dec. 19, 1889, near Germanville the son of Henry and Anna WARNER (sic - WERNER) DIERS. He was educated in Jefferson county and was a retired farm laborer. He was a member of the Lutheran church.
He is survived by two brothers, Fred of Lockridge and Glenn who lives in Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews.
