Funeral Services wil Be Held Friday at Hoskins HomeDave R. BEATTY (sic. a/k/a David R. BEATTY), past 92 years of age, and a Civil War veteran, died this morning at 1:15 a.m. at his home in this city. He suffered a stroke about ten days ago. During the past summer he had been quite active.
The funeral services will be held at the Hoskins Funeral home on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in charge of Dr. Gilbert Voorhies. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery here.
Mr. BEATTY was born in Ohio May 14, 1842, and had been a resident of Fairfield since 1864. While in business in Fairfield he formed a partnership with the late W. H. MOHR in the hardware and implement business, and later purchased his partners interest. He retired from business 20 years ago.
He served in the 107th Ohio Regiment, during the Civil War, and his discharge papers are signed by President LINCOLN.
He married Clarrisa F. SHEARER (sic. a/k/a Clara F. SHEARER), Sept. 10, 1866, and she preceded him in death Sept. 27, 1924.
The following children survive: Mrs. S. L. MACHESNEY of Fairfield, F. A. BEATTY (sic. Frank A. BEATTY) of East Moline, Ill., and Mrs. M. C. RENSHAW of Des Moines. The following grandchildren also survive, Martha RENSHAW and Hugh of East Moline, and Fred of Detroit, Mich.
