DROWNED
We learn that Philip Mann, aged 59 years, a native of Wurtemburg, Germany, but a citizen of Walnut township, Jefferson county, for twenty years, was drowned near his residence on the 9th inst. He was working in a field at 3 o'clock, and not coming home at night, search was made, and on Thursday following his body was found in Sulphur Slough, a body of back-water from Skunk river.....He was buried on Friday last.....He left considerable property.Transcribed by Doris Challis from Jefferson County Records, Vol. 6.
