John A. BURGER, 67, retired farmer and lifelong resident of Jefferson County, died at 4:45 a.m. today at his home in Salina. Bur. Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield. Born Dec. 28, 1888 near Merrimac, son of George and Margaret SINN BURGER; married Katharine MILLER Aug. 31, 1911. Lutheran. Surviving are wife and four daughters, Mrs. August LUEDTKE, Mrs. Joseph SCHILLESTROM and Mrs. Paul GILBERT, Fairfield, and Mrs. Charles WIGGINS, Princeton, Ill.; 7 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Katie DIERS, Macomb, Ill., and Mrs. Roy ESHELMAN, Brighton, and one brother, Jake BURGER, Brighton, also survives.

John BURGER

FAIRFIELD -- John A. BURGER, 67, Salina farmer, died at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He had been ill for three weeks.

Born Dec. 28, 1888, in Jefferson county, he was the son of George and Margaret SINN BURGER. He was married Aug. 31, 1911, at Shobonier, Ill., to Katherine MILLER.

BURGER was a member of the Clara Lutheran church at Salina.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. August LUEDTKE, Mrs. Joseph SCHILLERSTROM, and Mrs. Paul GILBERT, all of the Fairfield community, and Mrs. Carles WIGGINS, Princeton; two sisters, Mrs. Katie DIERS, Macomb, Ill.; and Mrs. Ray ESHELMAN, Brighton; a brother, Jacob BURGER, of Brighton; seven grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Behner funeral home, Rev. Earl Johnson officiating, and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Fairfield -- John A. BURGER, 67, Salina farmer, died at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He had been ill for three weeks.

Born Dec. 28, 1888, in Jefferson county, he was the son of George and Margaret SINN BURGER. He was married Aug. 31, 1911, at Shobonier, Ill., to Katherine MILLER.

BURGER was a member of the Clara Lutheran church at Salina.
