C. R. ELLIOTT Taken In Death

Clarence Raymond ELLIOTT, resident of Fairfield for the past 35 years, passed away about 7:45 p.m. Sunday at his home, 805 W. Broadway. He had been in failing health for the past six months suffering from a heart ailment.

The body is at the Raymond funeral home where last rites are pending.

Clarence Raymond ELLIOTT, 63, was born June 11, 1895, in Jefferson county, the son of the late William T. and Sarah LAYTON ELLIOTT. He was reared and educated in Jefferson county and married to Helen SMITH (sic) on May 15, 1917. The wedding took place in Muscatine.

He had been employed by the gas division of the Iowa Electric company for 18 years until his retirement Jan. 1, 1959. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.

Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie McVICAR, Sacramento, Calif.; one son, Glen ELLIOTT, Arlington, Calif.; two grandchildren and a brother, Harry ELLIOTT, Birmingham.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Virgil Keith, who lost his life during World War II.

ELLIOTT Rites Will Be Friday

Last rites for Clarence ELLIOTT wil be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond funeral home with Elder L. L. Dinwiddy of Ottumwa officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

ELLIOTT passed away Sunday evening at his home, 805 W. Broadway, after an illness of about six months.
