The painful news was announced last Saturday of the death of Mrs. Allen KING, of this city, of lung fever. Her death is generally mourned, not only because she was well known as a good and true woman, but also, because death left without a mother a family of nine children, and a devoted husband without a wife. She was about forty years old, and had resided in the county since childhood. The funeral took place Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the residence. Mr. KING and his motherless little ones have the condolence of the whole community.

Note: The maiden name was SMITH. Born February 17, 1840 and died January 8, 1881. Buried in Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. Old.P.374.
