Florence E. SMITH

Memorial services for Florence E. SMITH, 106, who died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Village Health Center in Indianola, will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 6, at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Howard St, Indianola, IA. A reception will follow at the church. Private family burial services will be held in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mrs. SMITH was born August 25, 1905, the daughter of James and Mary WEIR, in St. Marys, IA. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1925, attended Simpson college for two years, graduating and teaching school for several years. On June 15, 1932, she was united in marriage to Kenneth SMITH who preceded her in death in 2000. Florence was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Lioness group, Kensington Circle, the R-9 Club and a 90 year member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her son, Richard (Judy) SMITH of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Brian SMITH of Spring Hill, TN and Lori SCHAEFER WHEATON of Fairfield; two great-granddaughters, Cami and Abby SCHAEFER of Fairfield; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
