The former Carrie HOUCK, Mrs. LATHROP was born Aug. 23, 1890 (sic. 1891 on headstone inscription) at Vinton. Most of her life was spent in Fairfield. She was married to Edward G. LATHROP Jan. 27, 1907. He died Oct. 21, 1960 (sic. October 22, 1960).

Mrs. LATHROP was a member of the Free Methodist Church. She is survived by six children: Mrs. Marguerite CALHOON, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Pauline SCHADT, Seattle; Charles LATHROP, Felton, Calif.; Glenn LATHROP, San Pabla, Calif.; and Melvin LATHROP, Brighton.

* Transcribed for genealogy purposes. I am not related to the person(s) mentioned.

Note: Buried in Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. SDiv.2-021.

Admin. addendum: In looking at the 1900, 1910, and 1920 censuses, Carrie's age is 9, 19, and 29 respectively. All three censuses were taken prior to August of their respective years. It would appear that the 1891 birthdate on her headstone is incorrect.
