Jasper H. LATHROP, 63, passed away Monday, June 3 at the Moline Public hospital following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at the Weston Behner Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. Joseph Sollars with military rites in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. LATHROP was born in Fairfield October 7, 1910 the son of J. Fred and Jennie HARPER LATHROP. By trade he was a painter and decorator and spent his entire life in Fairfield and Davenport. He served in World War II and was a member of the American Legion and the First Lutheran church in Davenport.
Surviving is one daughter, one grandson and his mother, Mrs. Jennie LATHROP of Fairfield; one brother, Chester of Davenport and a sister, Opal E. DeJONG of Perham, Minn. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
