Services Friday for LATHROP

Rebecca "Jennie" LATHROP, 94, of Davenport died this morning at the Fejarery Nursing Home in Davenport.

She was born June 3, 1891 in Sullivan County, Mo., the daughter of James and Alice HINES HARPER. She married James "Fred" LATHROP on July 16, 1909 (sic. July 16, 1910). He died Dec. 20, 1962.

Mrs. LATHROP had been a homemaker all her life and had lived in Davenport since 1976. She was a member of the local Suburban Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Opal DeJONG ( Opal E Lathrop SCHERZ DeJONG ) of Davenport, six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons: Jasper, Chester A, and Paul, two sisters and nine brothers.

Services for Mrs. LATHROP will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial wil be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
