Archie GRIFFIN Taken In Death

Archie B. GRIFFIN, 68, Fairfield Route 4, died Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Jefferson County hospital where he had been a patient for the past week. He had been in poor health for the past year.

Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of the Rev. D. O. Van Dyne. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery.

GRIFFIN, a plasterer, had been a resident of Fairfield for 40 years. He was born April 15, 1894 at Blanchard, Iowa, the son of William and Mary NEWMAN GRIFFIN. He was married to Ethel RHOADES Aug. 21, 1912.

Surviving are his wife and the following children: William GRIFFIN, Raymond GRIFFIN, George GRIFFIN, Mrs. Betty BILLINGSLEY, Artie GRIFFIN, Gale GRIFFIN ('Pete') and Shirley GRIFFIN, all of Fairfield; Earl GRIFFIN, Mt. Pleasant; and Mrs. MarySHIPP (sic), Rosston, Ark.

Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. One son, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Note: Buried in Lot Memorial 35 - space 5. Wife Ethel died in 1984 and is buried beside him in space 6.
