Last rites will be Tuesday for David Leon BAILEY, naitve (sic - native) of Fairfield who died suddenly at the Henry county Memorial hospital in Mt. Pleasant.
He suffered a heart attack at his home in Rome, Iowa, about 5:30 p.m. and was taken to the hospital. He died at 10:37 p.m. Saturday.
The services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Raymond funeral home with the Rev. Larry L. Eklund officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
David Leon BAILEY, 47, was born Sept. 27, 1913, at Fairfield, the son of Ralph and Levada BUNCH BAILEY. He was reared and educated in Fairfield, and was united in marriage on Dec. 20, 1931, to Wilma LATHROP who survives.
He had lived in the Fairfield community for 40 years before the family moved to Rome seven years ago. He was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Methodist church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Marjorie GRIFFIN, Libertyville; Mrs. Phyllis MORRIS, Rome; David, William, Ronnie and Bonnie, all at home; also five grandchildren.
The following brothers and sisters also survive: Hazel BAILEY, Manchester, Tenn.; Jack of Tennessee; Donald who lives in Alaska; Leo of Kansas City; and Theo BAILEY, Fairfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one daughter and a brother.
