DIED. LAUGHLIN--at the family residence, in Locust Grove Township, on the morning of June 7, 1877,.....Mrs. Elvira Jane LYONS LAUGHLIN, the wife of A. W. LAUGHLIN, aged 34 years and 6 months. Mrs. LAUGHLIN was born in Jefferson County, Iowa, Dec. 6, 1842, was married to A. W. LAUGHLIN April 19th, 1866 ....Was baptized and joined the Mt. Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian church Jan, 25th, 1874.....A dear husband has been left with an aching void.....also four motherless little children, two bright little girls and two innocent, lovely little boys, besides a widowed mother, sister and brother.....

Elvira is buried in Gantz Cemetery. Husband Alexander Washington LAUGHLIN died in 1914 in Odessa, MO.
