L. HANSHAW Dies At 65

W. Lloyd "Red" HANSHAW, 65, longtime resident of Fairfield, died at 11:55 a.m. Friday at the Jefferson County Hospital. He had been in failing health for some time.

Services have been tentatively set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Lingwall officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Members of the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Lloyd HANSHAW was born Jan. 22, 1913, at Douds, the son of Logan and Maude LOVING HANSHAW. He was reared and educated in the Eldon and Fairfield communities.

He had made his home in Fairfield for the past 53 years. He as a graduate of the Fairfield High School with the Class of 1932, and he was employed at the Dexter Co. for over 40 years as a molder and set-up man in the press shop.

HANSHAW was married to Virginia McGLASSON Dec. 13. 1934, in Fairfield. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles and a member of the Iowa National Guard 34th Army Band for over 30 years.

In addition to his widow, Hanshaw is survived by four sons, Larry, Fairfield; Kenneth, Cedar Rapids; Leonard, stationed with the U.S. Navy at Norfolk, Va.; and Tom, serving in the U.S. Army in Germany; one daughter, Linda LIVESAY, Homestead, Fla.; 13 grandchildren, and a sister, Freda ROBISON, Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and two sisters.
