Raymond Joseph VOGT

Raymond Joseph VOGT, 79, of Route 4, died at 12:40 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 1996, at Jefferson County Hospital. The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.

VOGT was born March 9, 1917, in Fairfield, the son of Joseph F. and Martha J. EDLER VOGT. He was educated in Jefferson County. On Oct. 12, 1939, he married Martha Etta LANKFORD in Kahoka, Mo. She died Feb. 22, 1994. A resident of the Fairfield area all his life, he farmed and worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 45 years as a section worker. He was an avid fisherman and coon hunter and a music lover.

Surviving are three brothers, Richard and James, both of Fairfield, Robert of Richland; four daughters, Donna STEVENS, Iona GREINER, Roenna POOL and Julianna GIBSON, all of Fairfield; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille HENDERSON of Exline, Florence FLEMING of Cookesville, Tenn.; and a brother, Arthur of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sophia M. CRAFTON; a brother, Chester M.; and a granddaughter.
