Mrs. Fred VOGT Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Fred VOGT, 71, life-time resident of the Fairfield community, died suddenly about 1:30 p.m. Thursday at her home on rural route 4, Fairfield.

Last rites will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with the Rev. D. O. VanDyne in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Martha Jane VOGT was born Aug. 28, 1891, at Germanville, Ia., the daughter of William and Ella SHEPPARD EDLER.

She was married to Fred VOGT on Nov. 18, 1909, at Fairfield. He preceded his wife in death on June 26, 1959.

Mrs. VOGT is survived by two daughters and three sons: Mrs. Lucille HENDERSON, Exline, Iowa; Mrs. Florence FLEMING, Davenport; Chester, Raymond and Arthur VOGT, all of Fairfield; along with 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Other survivors include the following brothers and sisters: Charles EDLER, Fairfield; Lloyd EDLER, Amana; Mrs. Howard HAIFLEY, Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Laura KNAUSS, Fairfield; Mrs. Cecil MANNING, Fairfield; Mrs. Goldie REMALEY, Burlington; Mrs. Hazel REMALEY, Indiana; Mrs. Eva JOHNSON, Gates City, Calif.; Mrs. Pearl MESSER, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Ethel BALL, Burlington; and Mrs. Velma RICH, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, three sisters and four brothers.
